I didn’t discover I was a skilled carpenter until I was in my 40s. For over 25 years, alcohol addiction and mental illness robbed me of my goals, my peace, and my purpose. That changed when I picked up woodworking. The cedar sawdust, the hands-on craft - it grounded me. It healed me. Just got my fire starter a few days ago, every fire since has been a 1 match start. Will be buying more.
I am so impressed with these fire starters. I used one to start my wood stove. Normally I use birch bark but decided to give this a try. I set up pieces of dry wood. No kindling! I lit the brick and set it between the wood. Voila! It burned much longer than 10 minutes and my fire was started. I will only need these for the spring and fall when I am not burning constantly. I won’t have the mess now of keeping birch bark on hand. I highly recommend these!
